Stuff that I've Loved this week....

It's been an interesting week this week - full of highs and lows...
but I've chosen to focus on the highs and share the things
that have brought me joy this week ~ hope some of these
make you smile too!

Colour in my otherwise tired and overdue-for-a-makeover bathroom

These beautiful blossoms that I pass on the way to preschool
- a sign that Spring is on it's way!

The beautiful countryside surrounding us

Watching my kids have afternoon tea together after a day at preschool
( can you see Ruby's "ballerina" skirt that HAS to be worn AT.ALL.TIMES!!!??)

Kisses from my boy.... and cuddles from my girl

I love that it takes a special kinda guy to get away with
wearing his sister's sunnies.... and Finn does it so well!

The kids taking turns pushing each other on swings...

A day trip to the "seaside"

Experimenting with my camera!

Hope

I'm sure there's plenty of good stuff surrounding you too...
Sometimes we just have to look a little harder to see it...
but it's definitely there

One of the Kids Favourite Books of all time...

At the moment Ruby and Finn have a couple of favourite books that they will sit mesmerised listening to for hours on end... over... and over.... and over.... you get the idea, right?

I love that they love books and to be read to. I try to keep the books rotating on a regular basis but you can tell the favourites... the  dog-ears and milk-stains are a dead give away!

This one is the flavour of the month right now!

The Wonky Donkey - Craig Smith
With gorgeous, cheeky illustrations by Katz Cowley

This is an absolute favourite here - at any time. It is guaranteed to produce fits of hysterical laughter and edge of your seat anticipation as they try to remember which description is next - or try to work out from the illustrations.
It's about a Donkey, see... but that endearing Donkey only has 3 legs... so he's a Wonky Donkey. You then discover that he only has one eye, which makes him a Winky Wonky Donkey.... Finn's favourite is when you realise that he smells real bad ( you can imagine the illustration that would appeal to young boys for that one).. and so it goes on until he is a :

Spunky Hanky-Panky Cranky Stinky-Dinky Lanky Honky-Tonky Winky Wonky Donkey!!!
( It's fun to read too )

Hee-Haw!

One of my favourite things ....

Don't you just LOVE to have a steaming hot long shower on a cold windy night after standing ironing for 4+hours??? Please note : yes I said long! No interruptions, no keeping an ear out for sibling domestics, no cleaning the shower while in it... Just a long hot shower to wind down the day...

Next best thing is climbing into a freshly made warm bed in comfy, snuggly pjs to read and regroup before drifting off to sleep... Ahhhhh

BTW ~  I had lost my blogging mojo for a bit - but be warned - I'm back with a vengeance! Things have settled down a little here and there isn't quite as much chaos as there  previously was ... so am not as exhausted and brain fried at the end of the day... and lots of ideas, thoughts and photos to share with you. See you soon

Lotsa Lots

Loving....

Today I'm sharing some things that I love

Wing backed chairs.
They remind me of my Granny

Fresh flowers - especially Irises, Hydrangeas,
 Lisianthus and Rununculas
My Mum's house always has cut flowers
( usually from her garden)

Books
My Mum once told me that I'd never be lonely
as long as I could read

The sound and smell of rain

Music - in all shapes and forms. I love that it can represent so
many things. It is a universal language.

"Music speaks what cannot be expressed,
soothes the mind and gives it rest,
heals the heart and makes it whole,
flows from heaven to the soul"

Companionable silence

The sound of my kids laughter - best sound in the world

Dandelions.... close your eyes
make a wish
and blow

What do you love?
